Miscellaneous

The things here don't fit any other page on this site, but are nonetheless quite fun :) ...Who am I kidding, they're great fun. This is where all the fun stuff is! All the crazy original fun stuff that people either love or just shake their heads at, I guess.

...Worryingly enough, this is fast becoming a very big page XD

Show reports

CATS LIVE, EEEEEEEEE!! I have now seen CATS... over ten times (...four of which occured in December 2006! *hides*) Expect hyperactivity and ALL CAPS and a proliferation of exclamation marks in these reports!!!!

Logo tees

Got all the CATS wardrobe merchandise available and still don't feel able to express your fandom quite adequately? Here are some designs suitable for printing onto transfer paper and ironning onto t-shirts! (Or you could get a printshop to print them directly onto the t-shirt.)

IMPORTANT: Depending on your transfer paper, it may be necessary to flip the image horizontally (ie so it's a mirror image so the words turn out the right way around on the tee.) Do check this....

So! Click on the preview tees for the transfers.

The finished products, as modeled rather awkwardly by moi...

The Macavity Files

Demeter's yell of "MACAVITY!!!" through the ages :) Because it is fun.

Video Cast - click!, click!, click!
Nice variety of paranoia here I think. .......Also, yes, yes I'm incredibly childish, but playing these on loop out of context is hilarious XDD
My rating: three paranoid points.

France 1989 - click!
A quite young-sounding and EXTREMELY TRAUMATIZED-SOUNDING Demeter ^^;; Someone should go give her a hug and tell her everything's ok.
My rating: four paranoid points

Broadway - click!
I know this may be quite a familiar one to some people, but I hadn't heard it until fairly recently and... it's so strange!! ^^ Especially with the random panning... Amused. She doesn't sound scared so much as... rather suspicious really!
My rating: two paranoid points.

Japan 1985 - click!
...Heeeee! Both Bomba(??) and Demeter here. It's... very different!! (The rest of the singing is not squeakified at all.) But definitely rather panicked, I think... According to my friend Aly, the Japanese lyrics for Macavity paint him very black indeed!
My rating: three paranoid points

Australia - click! ... at your own risk
Aly: "...more like "CAN I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH!??" than "Monster of Depravity"." You don't know how true it is until you listen. Ohhh my.
My rating: ONE ZILLION AMUSION POINTS.

Unfortunately, the London, Hungarian and German versions I have include just the main parts of the songs; no "Macavity!!"s here. If anyone has any different casts' clips of "Macavity!!", do tell..!

Coming soon?? The Tugger's Meow Files! ^_^ (You know.. that meow/purr/noise he does at the beginning of his song..?)

Extra fic-type things by me

The Great Search - I wrote most of this in 2002, lost it somewhere on a floppy disk, was very sad... and subsequently rediscovered it in 2008. I scribbled a few more lines and it was finished! The, uhh, plot, such as it is, concerns the entire Jellicle tribe being sent on a search to discover my missing music XD Tis cute! Also I think it gets extra points for mentioning the most Jellicles in one fic that I've managed! (Or does Summer Skies maybe do just as well...?)

Dummies' Guide to CATS Romance - A piece of silliness and sarcasm inspired by romantic cliché. A worrying number of people took this seriously when I first posted it on fanfiction.net. I fear I may have done some terrible damage...

Jellicle Cocktails

So, one day in 2006 or so, there I was, innocently trying to do some revision for my exams... Only my brain wasn't thinking about bel canto opera, it was thinking: "...JELLICLE COCKTAILS!! How cool would they be??" And so, a little later, with a little help from my friends (I know very little about making cool drinks or alcohol in general)...

Etcetera - created by Lina and I. Cherryade, orange juice, optional hint of ouzo.
Girly, bubbly, candy-sweet and bright pink. Drink up and go squee at your favourite heartthrob.

Rumpelteazer - created by Aly. Morgan's spiced rum, red sourz, lemonade, orange & passionate fruit juice. Just the thing to send you into giddy giggles and double-cartwheels! (NB: I am not responsible for the consequences of you attempting double cartwheels!!)

Obviously, enjoy these and any alcohol responsibly and legally!! Mocktails (alcohol-free cocktails!) are great too!

Any further suggestions? E-meow me!

Oh and one more thing... We were discussing the possibilities of, say, a Munkustrap cocktail. Not easy to imagine a Munkustrap cocktail, but we did try! ...It is comparatively very easy however to imagine Munkustrap with a cocktail! See? And again :)

Dress-me-up Munku!

Some time ago I decided to create a paper doll of our dear dedicated Jellicle Leader from one of the RUG colouring sheets. So far he is supplied with his Growltiger's-Crew outfit, but if you feel inspired to create some new outfits...

Here he is!

About me

Haha, I dislike writing these! Buuut, as I don't dislike reading them, I figure it's only fair...

I'm called Jesta around here... I'm twenty-one years old (I KNOW! OLD!)! And I currently live in Bristol, England where I work part time in a café-bakery and write music when I'm not doing that. I'm a Christian - and trying to live my life in line with what I believe, with help :)

Some of my favourite CATS cats include: Jemima (my first love when I watched the vid!), Rumpelteazer and Mungojerrie (how could I not??), Rum Tum Tugger (...funnily enough, I didn't fully appreciate him until I was about... oh, sweet sixteen?), The Great Rumpus Cat (awesomeness in feline shape).

Other fandoms of which I am a fangirl: Final Fantasy VII, Othello, ReBoot, Cowboy Bebop, Twelfth Night, The French Revolution (yes, the actual historical one... no, one might not usually call it a fandom, but believe me it is now), most things Disney, Metal Gear Solid, Warcraft III, Final Fantasy VI, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Red Dwarf, Firefly, Buffy/Angel (selective bits!!) I like to watch Doctor Who and Star Trek on OnDemand when I visit home-home, but generally I don't watch much TV. I never catch series until they're done, it seems! Still, that means I can watch the whole thing on reruns/DVDs.

Other things I like include... Music, generally, as you may have gathered. Attempting to draw/design and sew clothes/decorate my flat/dance/write songs... I love theatre and being in productions: specially, recently, the Bristol Uni PantoSoc productions! We are mega-cool. Obsessing. Old books of odd bits of poetry in translation. And TS Eliot! Making things and making things up. I adore occasionally having time to spend hours trying to use watercolours, or decorating cookies, or especially making stuff out of cardboard and newspaper and string like you don't really get to from the age of eight up.

I'm actually allergic to most cats I've met, but that doesn't stop me going out of my way to meet them when I'm walking around! (I walk practically everywhere - I haven't even really learnt to drive.) I like them a lot. But I think I really want a dog... when I'm all grown up and settled. That'll be my definition of grown up and settled, when I can get a dog. Or, allergies permitting, I would love to get a dog and a cat and have them be friends ^_^

At home-home, we have a wonderful Cairn Terrier dog called Bonnie. She is so cute.

To-Do List

...Um yes, this is more for my benefit. Stuff I still need to do on this site~ But you can, um, see how I progressing..?
